Hand rehabilitation

Donation protected
Melissa has always been a pretty spirited girl. The summer before her senior year in high school, she began suffering from headaches, nausea and vomiting. Her brain tumor was detected by a CT scan during an ER visit at Saddleback Memorial.
In this photo she was 17 and had just had a craniotomy for an Astrocytoma. She followed her surgery with a month of radiation and many months of rehabilitation and physical therapy. Although she has suffered a gait disturbance and lost the use of her left hand, she persevered her senior year and was homeschooled by the Corona-Norco school district- she graduated with her class on time.
If you know Melissa, you know how independent (stubborn) she is ☺️ . She has adapted- she paints her nails (using her mouth to hold the nail polish brush for the fingers of her right hand), ties her shoe laces (I don't know how), and can even hit control/alt/delete using her right hand and a pencil in her mouth.. She never gives up, and she never complains.
Melissa has an opportunity to rehabilitate her left hand using a Bioness H200. It is not covered under her insurance and costs $6700.00. Let's make it happen for her! Thanks for your prayers, and may God richly bless you!
