My name is Hosam, and I live in Canada. I'm currently fundraising on behalf of my cousin Saeed and his family, who are enduring extremely harsh conditions in Gaza. The funds raised through this campaign will go toward essential needs—such as food, clean water, and hygiene supplies—and to help purchase tickets for his children to leave Gaza when the Rafah crossing reopens

Here’s a message from Saeed, describing what his children have been through and his hopes for their future:

“My children were excellent students and got the highest marks. I have seven children between the ages of 8 and 17, all of whom excelled in their studies. With the start of the war on October 7, 2023, schools stopped and we were displaced to areas far from our place of residence, where the safe places were determined for us by the Defense Forces. We were displaced to places where it was difficult to live. We spent days under bombardment, rain, cold, hunger, and the educational level declined. Education became non-existent, and my children began to live in difficult living conditions, which forced them to adapt to the new situation, which consisted of searching the roads and streets for firewood and paper to use in lighting fires for cooking, as well as queues to obtain water for drinking. They walk long distances to carry water for washing and use it in the bathroom, as there is a lack of cleanliness. This negatively affected the health of my children and their academic and literary level declined, as they mixed with children who lacked education. Since October 7, 2023, until today, we have been without education. The situation now, with the start of the implementation of the truce, we have become homeless, as it was My home was destroyed and there are no schools as they were destroyed and the living conditions are difficult. I expect that if education begins, it will be in tents with a random teaching staff. Therefore, I would like to collect donations from you so that I can travel abroad to the nearest country such as Egypt and enroll in schools. This will cost me amounts that include travel expenses, reservations, travel fare and accommodation so that I can enroll my children in schools in another country.”
