Shirtwaist Sisters EP

Hello, new and old friends!
I am writing you on behalf of myself, Nicole Weiss, and Lynn Andrews. Together, we form The Shirtwaist Sisters, a trio of sultry, blues-inspired, folky sirens. Some of you may have heard our music already, but please click this link to hear our Soundcloud!: https://soundcloud.com/the-shirtwaist-sisters
On June 14th, 2015, we were showcased right here in NYC at Ars Nova's ANT Fest, a festival of new writers, performers, musicians, and artists, hand selected by a team of judges and reviewers. It was a grand ole time! Check out this video describing our show/music/inspirations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FezZhPK8x54
We were lucky to also recently make it to NPR's finalist for the Tiny Desk Competition. It went to some cool dude with the voice and style of ALL of our dreams, so props sir. We're not even MAD. However, to see OUR submission, click THIS funky link!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGG0fEv_4P0
Okay, enough with persuading you that we're somewhat legitimate. I shall tell you how we three ladies came to be? K.
We were all in the cast of FROM THE FIRE, a Liz Swados musical that went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011, and sorta swept the awards. It was an incredibly magical time in fair ole Scotland. Not only did we all enjoy the show itself, we also formed an immediate bond with each other, and casually sang and harmonized because of the love.
After the show closed in Scotland, we remained friends, and continued to sing together for fun. At some point in 2012, we realized that it wasn't just whatever that we blended so well, and also wrote well together. We decided to try 'n do this thang! And there it is: a baby band of three ladies was born. We took on the name The Shirtwaist Sisters because in FROM THE FIRE, we portrayed factory workers in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. Thought it was only fitting to pay homage to our origin.
I am reaching out because the universe has intervened, and we've finally been given the opportunity and time to record our EP (HUZZAH!) It will be four songs, recorded right here in NYC December 21-22. We have a killer team of mixers, a trusted and enthused producer, and a team of cray talented musicians. We couldn't be more thrilled to professionally record our original music.
Here's the reason for this email: we are only able to front $1,500 of our own cash (all actors.....so you know how THAT goes), and the ideal amount we would need to record in the best space for our sound, pay our musicians what they're worth (more than pizza and beer), pay our amazing producer, and manufacture our EPs is.....*dun dun DUN*.... closer to $4,000/$5,000. If you feel comfortable donating any amount - seriously could be $5 - we would be SO appreciative. Every dollar gets us closer to our goal! We gals have decided to offer this in return:
In exchange for donations:
$0.0001 -$4: Shout out on social media, and a free download of our almost-tiny-desk-winner "Coffee Pot."
$5-$29: Shout out on social media, and a free digital copy of our EP.
$30-100: Shout out on social media, a signed thank you card with lipstick kisses, and free digital copy of our EP.
$101-a million bagillion dollars: SHOUT OUTTTT on social media, a free digital copy of our EP, a signed thank you card with lipstick kisses, and good luck for the rest of your life.
We need this in time for the last day of our recording: DECEMBER 22ND.
As you can see, it's a super win-win situation here. We (Nicole, Lynn, and I) can't thank you enough for taking the time to read this email. *If I had the time, money, hand strength, and will power to write each of you on your own individual scribes, and have them delivered to your door steps, I would. Just so you know where my heart's at. *
Love, light, gratitude!
