Triton Smart Ankle for Bethany!

Donation protected

Bethany has had to live with a prosthetic leg for 18 years.  As we are approaching her 20th year, she is very interested in the new technology that the Triton smart ankle provides. She has never had an ankle that automatically moves to fit her gait and activities.

This year she has been dealing with Bursitis of her knee which is uncomfortable/painful and possibly could make her current prosthetics unwearable at times.  A Physical Therapist noticed her knees might be compensating for lack of ankle movement and could cause further problems. Her long-time Prosthetist mentioned this new ankle would be a great fit for her anyway, but the fact that they help many amputees dealing with similar knee issues is an added encouragement.

I am looking to purchase this for her. With the insurance coverage we currently have, we are thankfully only responsible for 20%, but that is still $2,500 we do not have in our budget. Since December is Bethany's birthday month as well as the Christmas season, I wanted to give this opportunity to support my beautiful wife. If you would like to help us out with the cost of this ankle, we would be very appreciative. Anything above and beyond the specific amount for this leg, would be held on to for any future prosthetic/health needs.

I feel she is long overdue for a more comfortable prosthetic with all the hustle and bustle of raising two kids, keeping up with household responsibilities, and holding a part-time job. I would love to see this help her general day-to-day life as she heads into her "middle-age years" ;)

The prosthetic feet in the Triton family of products are based on the interactive triangular spring system. Three interconnected spring elements ensure remarkably smooth rollover characteristics.

Thanks to their outstanding dynamics and flexibility, all Triton feet are suitable for a broad range of applications from everyday use to recreational sports.

• Noticeable plantar flexion at heel strike

• Split forefoot for more safety, stability and control on uneven surfaces

• Especially long load-bearing foot length due to molded forefoot

• Adaptation of heel stiffness to individual user needs through use of included heel wedges

• Especially durable footshell with sandal toe.
