Help an amazing mom of 2 pay for Brain Surgery
My fiancé was 8 months pregnant with our 2nd son when she woke up with swelling in her head, dizziness and wasn't able to communicate clearly. After being seen in the E.R she was admitted and seen by a neurologist who informed her that she had a malformation of blood vessels in her brain, with the extra blood her body was producing for our son this malformation was not allowing her brain to work properly, because she was pregnant all they could do was keep her for observation and put her on anti-seizure medications, the day after she was release she went into pre-term labor. Luckily we had found out about this malformation before because had she tried a natural labor the way she was determined to do the blood vessels would have likely ruptured and we would have lost her the day we brought our son into this world, we had an emergency C-section just days after finding out about her brain condition. Since having my son her syptoms have worsened, she is having multiple seziures a day even with meds, she is losing strength in her right arms and she has moments where she can't even remember where she lives or what's going on around us. She has gone through numerous testing and different meds to try and find something to help but nothing has helped. Through this all she is still working a full time job from home sometimes working over 60 hours a week while caring for both of our boys, she really is super mom!
Today after results from another MRI (she's had multiple since her 1st E.R. visit each one with a copay of 1000) her surgeon has recommend that she go forward with brain surgery and because of where the mass is she needs to have the surgery within in next month, every day that passes makes surgery and removal less effective and more risky so he's scheduled her for June 26th.
If she doesn't have surgery by then she won't be a candidate for surgery later as the risk will be too high and the effectiveness will be too low. Without surgery the effected part of her brain will start to spread, her seizures will start to become more frequent and more severe, she will slowly start to lose function in the right side of her body and as the effected area spreads she may loose full body function and her seizures could likely become life threatening. This can all happen in under a year or up to 5 years judging by growth of the mass in the last couple of months.
We have until June 26th to come up with $8,000 for brain surgery, this doesn't include rent, bills, childcare expenses while she's out of work. After surgery she will likely lose strength in the right side of her body but hopefully with time that will return, so for a while until she's back to being able to function and move around there will be many additional expenses and half of our household income gone. We never thought we would be in a situation where we had to ask strangers for help for one of us to continue to live but the chances of us being able to come up with $8,000 on our own doesn't seem possible. My fiancé is a wonderful person and an AMZING MOTHER, our boys are everything to her and she shows it to them everyday in everything she does, she believes that when you do good things good things will come back to you, she believes that the world is full of beauty and good people and she believes that the best thing in life is watching her kids experience anything for the 1st time, she believes that some how this will all work out. Any donation is appreciated all funds will go to surgery or aftercare... thank you all for reading this far.
