Let's Help Alice!

Donation protected
As Vanderbilt Students living in Branscomb, we have been lucky enough to come in contact with the most hysterical Munchie Mart worker, Alice Eidson.

After getting to know Alice, we realized that Alice needs our help! Alice is in the early stages of a male to female transition but has been having trouble continuing due to financial reasons. These procedures are extremely expensive and are mostly not covered by insurance. We hope through this Campaign to atleast raise enough money to cover the cost of Hormone Treatment for Alice.

Here is a statement from Alice describing her situation and why she needs our help:

"My name is Alice Eidson, and I am transgender. I came out to everyone over a year ago, and have been fighting tooth and nail to make progress with my transition. Last summer, I was able to raise enough money to legally change my name. That same day I walked out of the DMV with my new license, I got fired from my job. I was unable to continue with my fundraising campaign, as I tried to get my life back on track and avoid homelessness. A year later, I finally have a car and I am employed at a very friendly and open-minded place of employment: Vanderbilt University. I have put the past behind me, but now I am looking towards the future. I am choosing to engage in hormone replacement therapy, and an eventual sex reassignment surgery. In order to start hormones a letter from a therapist is required. Hormones are a recurring cost. After a year of hormones, I may be eligible for sex reassignment surgery. All of these things cost money. There’s travel, copays, and blood work to be done.

I have spent almost thirty years unable to express my gender identity, and I am going to fight as hard as I can to change that. Please, will you help me?"

We are all part of one Vanderbilt Community, and we have a responsibilty to help eachother. Please consider supporting Alice on her journey to happiness and also promoting awareness for the Transgender Community here at Vanderbilt.
