Melissa's Fight Against Breast Cancer
Melissa Girkesh was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer on June 1, 2021 and is scheduled for a double mastectomy on July 8th. She will then begin her journey fighting this invasive cancer. Melissa is a single mom of her 15 year old son, Brayden, and her adopted daughter Lilli. Melissa lives in Point Pleasant where her children are extremely active in school sports and activities. Her son also plays soccer for the Howell Soccer Club. She has been a part of The Atlantic Club family working at Atlantis Prep School for the past 20 years. She is the Enrichment Director/Assistant Director of AP and also the TAC Rookie Summer Camp Director.
Melissa has been a lead organizer & strong participant in the fight for childhood cancer including our annual Alex's Lemonade Stands and Team Tyson Fund for over 10 years. Her diagnosis was completely out unexpected and has been a whirlwind for herself and for her two children. She has a long road to recovery and taking everything one day at a time with a smile.
Please consider donating as we are trying to help offset some of her medical/life expenses. Melissa will be out of work for an unknown amount of time. We want her to focus on the number one goal, RECOVERY.
