Support for Gabe's Kidney Transplant

Hello! My name is Hannah Petruccelli and I've set up this Go Fund Me on behalf of my brother, Gabe Smith, and his wife Bonnie.

Gabe was born with full kidney failure and at that time doctors told our parents he would need to reach 22 pounds to have a kidney transplant. However, after several successful surgeries, he was able to avoid a transplant. Due to his own great self-care, along with that of Bonnie, he has been able to live on the function of 1/3 of one kidney. Unfortunately, his function has dramatically decreased and a transplant is now urgently needed. Our brother, Sam, has matched and will be his donor. Their surgery is scheduled for June 1st. Praise God!

Gabe and Bonnie, along with Sam, are in need of financial help due to the extreme financial burden this will present not only now, but in the future. The average kidney transplant cost is $450,000. These expenses include appointments 30 days prior to the transplant, the surgery itself, and six months of post-surgery appointments. Additionally, there is the cost of ongoing immunosuppressant medications of approximately $15,000/year for life.

What I'm asking of you:

1) Most importantly, please please pray for them as the date of the surgery approaches! There are risks involved in the surgery for both Gabe and Sam, but we are hopeful and praying for the best possible outcome for both of them!

2) Consider donating to help alleviate the financial strain this will put on all of them. We would love for them to have one less thing to worry about right now.
