Hello everyone, my name is Becky and I am Juniper Lee's great Aunt. Her Grandma Valerie is my sister and Megan, Juniper's mom is my neice.
Here is her story:
From birth to 1 year, Juniper was a typical developing infant. She could crawl, pull herself up to stand and was starting to walk with assistance. By the time she was 20 months, she was starting to use 3 word sentences. Her vocabulary was amazing. Three days after her 12 month well baby checkup her left eye began to turn inward. We took her to two optometrists and an ophthalmologist; all who said she would need surgery and referred us to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. We made the appointment. Covid happened and the appointment was cancelled. We didn’t want to wait to get her help, so we turned to homeopathy. We got some hope and started our journey in April. By July her eye was beginning to turn outward again and we thought we were starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. By the middle of August her eye turned outwards. She no longer wanted to walk with assistance and began to stop wanting to crawl. She now (September) can barely speak. Our homeopathic practitioner was not sure how to handle the situation any longer. We were able to find a pediatrician who has seen things similar to Juniper’s situation. We are waiting to find out if we can figure out what is going on. Juniper has many tests and appointments coming up in the next few weeks. We are asking for prayers for her. I can tell she is frustrated and sad that she can no longer do the things she used to be able to do. Our Juniper is still here, but trapped in her body. It has been the most horrific experience of our lives. Our hearts are breaking for her, but we are trusting that God will heal her. He has already brought some amazing people into our lives and we are truly thankful.
Recently after an MRI and a trip to a pediatric Neurologist in Grand Forks ND, it was found that Juniper may possibly have Leukodystrophy. She has been referred to Mayo Clinic to see a specialist. At this time there is not appt set but Mike is the sole provider of their family as Megan stays home to care for Juniper. Mike will have to miss work and the travel expenses and lodging along with food ect will begin to build for this young family.
I ask that first and foremost you pray for a miracle for our sweet Juni, that the Lord would heal her body and bring her back to full restoration of body, mind and spirit. Secondly if you are able to give please do so, any amount will help them. All the money will go directly to Mike and Megan.
