Hi, my name is Andre. I am from Northern Virginia & I’m an independent investigative journalist & the creator of the ASD-DOCS YouTube Channel.
YouTube has banned the ASD-DOCS YouTube Channel from making any money on the platform. I lost all the money for the month. I am devastated.
This GoFundMe is being created to help me, Andre, stay financially afloat & pay my bills at the end of the month. I have many expenses & I am in total shock that YouTube has banned my investigation videos.
This is how I make a full-time income & pay my bills. Since being banned from YouTube's Partnership Program, all of my videos have been demonetized. Knowing that the end of the month is near & knowing I have to pay rent & other utilities, I am apprehensive about the near future.
The following statement below is a little history of how ASD-DOCS was created. Thank you for your time.
ASD-DOCS is a YouTube Channel that I created in 2019. It first started as a podcast, where I would interview police accountability activists from all over North America.
I’ve interviewed big YouTubers such as Tom Nash, LackLuster, & Audit the Audit, to name a few.
It wasn’t until a life-altering event in late 2019 that I took a shift in my content & began doing in-depth investigations & sharing it with my viewers & subscribers.
Through my videos, I’ve helped numerous victims of police misconduct overcome the hardships by sharing their stories, with evidence such as documentation, video clips of the event & long-format interviews of the victims sharing their own personal accounts.
This year I made it to 100,000 subscribers & I am so grateful for that.
Before creating my YouTube Channel in 2019, I was working as a bartender. I lost my job in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Without a job & feeling lost, I decided to double down & work hard to try to make this YouTube Channel viable as a full-time job & income. I’m proud to say that I was able to do that & have not looked back since.
There is one case in particular that I’ve investigated & reported on that really defines the importance of ASD-DOCS. This is the case of Luis Sanchez, also known as the Massive Court Corruption Case: to summarize a lot of the key events: Luis Sanchez had two defense attorneys out of Utah who, along with the prosecutor & judge, conspired to have him imprisoned.
Once I investigated & reported on the story in 2021, it garnered 1.5 million views & today, Luis Sanchez reached a settlement with the state of Utah. I cannot emphasize enough how proud I was in that moment to have been able to help someone in dire need using my YouTube platform.
Over 95% of my videos are professional & original content. I believe these videos are fully compliant with all of YouTube’s policies to the point that they are exemplary in this regard. All other content is used with written permission on a fair use basis with a transformative nature to the video.
My videos & interviews are meant to shed light on corruption & misconduct going on in policing in America today. Although some people may not agree with the way some of the activists that I interviewed on the channel say or do, I believe that transparent civil discourse is the best way to navigate ideas & push the conversation forward.
My mission is to continue publishing in-depth investigations because I know little by little ASD-DOCS is making a positive impact.
The partnership program is essential for me to remain an independent investigative journalist. The long hours of editing & researching would be possible for me without the partnership program.
YouTube has always treated me fairly & I have always worked to abide by the terms YouTube set. To show for it, I have zero community strikes & zero copyright strikes. This recent action to instantly remove my channel from the Partnership Program without warning came as a genuine shock & the generalized reason for reused content conflicts with YouTube’s own human reviews of my content.
Sincerely, I do not understand why the suspension happened, especially given our long history of compliance with guidelines, copyright, & monetization policies. Thank you for your time & attention today.
YouTube is a major part of my living income & has been a daily part of my life since watching youtube at a young age.
I hope YouTube accepts my appeal & reinstates ASD-DOCS to the partner program. I believe this is the right decision due to the positive professional nature of my content & the long-term relationship that I hope to continue to have with YouTube.
If I've ever brought any value to you & you have the means to, please donate to my GoFundMe.
The funds will be used to keep the ASD-DOCS YouTube Channel afloat. It will allow me to continue the vital work I know needs to be shared with the public.
Again, if you have it in your heart to help me out, I will be forever grateful.
Thank you so much for all of your support!
