I dont usually like to post a lot of personal things about my life on Facebook, but today I reach out! Friends that know me also know my sister, Audra.
Five years ago, this October my sister married her soul mate Kevan Cotton-and they are 2 peas in a pod! Lucky for our family he puts up and fits right in with our sense of humor❤️❤️
About 2 months ago Kevan was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer and Crohn’s disease at the age of 52. He underwent surgery on 3/15 to remove a 9 cm tumor, taking 1/3 of his kidney.
On 3/29 they met with the urologist for post op and were advised they had gotten all of the cancer. So, they gave him to go ahead to start treatment for the Crohns.
when they met with the GI doc they were informed that all of the cancer was not successfully removed. The red light came on for the crohns treatment, until they met with oncology...
April 10, they met with oncology and at that time were given the stage of cancer and type, chromophobe-
it is an uncommon entity which means it’s rare and chemo/radiation are not an option. These treatments have been proven not to work. So they just watch and will start scans every three months. Thankfully the green light is on for the crohns treatment which will hopefully start in a few weeks. Kevan started back to work this week but was still very weak and in a lot of pain and had to leave early most days.
I am hoping to help them in paying the mounting medical bills and alleviate some of the burden for my sister and brother in law. They mean the world to me!
