So a lot of you know me but for the ones that dont I am a Vet Tech at NC State Vet School and I show reining horses. I have had some bad luck over the past year. The gray horse in my picture got sick after he got home from a show and got laminitis so bad I had to put him down. That broke my heart and was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Then on christmas eve my old gelding who I had owned for 20yrs had to be put down b/c he was sick. Its hard making these decisions for your animals friends but you have to do what's right for them and not think of yourself. After having to make that hard decision on both of them I thought that I wouldn't have to make that hard decision again anytime soon. Well I was wrong. I had a yearling that came up 3 legged lame. He was diagnosed with OCD of his shoulder and was taken to surgery but when they got in there it was so bad he had to be put down. So another hard decision I had to make. So everyone says things come in threes so I was thinking all by bad luck was over.
I had been doing good until we got hit with a horrible hail storm this week. It damaged a lot of things on my parents farm Including my horse trailer. My bad luck the insurance company is being difficult and I need to get my trailer fixed as soon as possible. So I have money saved up for the big NRHA futurity show in Oklahoma that I was suppose to show my mare Ella at in Nov. But I'm not going to be able to go now since I'm having to use that money to get my trailer fixed. So I'm not one to ask for money but I've worked so hard to try and get her ready and I have been so excited to think that I was going to get to show her out there and now its not going to happen. I posted pictures of some of the hail damage. My trailer has dentss all in it and the roof will have to be replaced. The lights are also broken on it.
