Urgent Help: Single Father’s Basement Wall Collapsed

My name is Kayla, and I’m at a loss for the unfortunate news I received today regarding a house accident that happened over this past weekend (7/27).

My boyfriend is a single father whose home was affected by the heavy rains during Friday and Saturday, so much so that the basement wall caved in creating a giant hole. Days after filing his insurance claim, he was told his policy would not cover the damage nor would they even assess the damage. His current job requires him to travel every week, so repairs have been even more delayed and missing work is not an option.

I don’t know how much it will cost for the fixes, but anything helps. He will likely have to take out additional loans for fixing it and that’s if they can get approved before more damage incurs. Any funds donated will be used to at least repair the hole and the foundation so he and his child will be safe until next steps can be made. If there’s any surplus it will go towards general repair of their basement to ensure it’s safe or simply given back (his choice), but whatever can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

I don’t want to see him struggle even more or be setback from his goals of getting his college degree. It seems every time he tries to return to school, something happens where it results in him having to put it back on hold.

He is a strong person and I’m sure he would try to do it all himself if he could because he is not the type to ask for help; but, I know he would also be extremely grateful for even $20 because he is such a giving and kind person. He would give the last shirt off his back to help a stranger, so setting up this crowdfund is the least I could do.
