On January 2, 2024, Sandra Agüeros was admitted to the hospital for recurrent anemia. Two days after being admitted, Sandra was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. On 1/8/2024, a mere 6 days after her initial admission to the hospital for anemia, Sandra begins her fight against AML, starting with an initial round of chemotherapy.

Sandra, her husband Roberto, and their family will need all of our prayers and support as they dive head first into this journey towards remission.

Although I have only known and worked with Sandra for 2 years, I have found her to be one of the bravest, kindest and hardest working individuals I have ever met. Even in the days after receiving this diagnosis, Sandra has remained fearless and positive, ready to work through each therapy and fight for her life. Sandra was recently married to Roberto over the Christmas holiday and he has been and will continue to be by her side, along with their family and friends.
