One Stroller - Many Steps Forward

We met on the Humans of New York page. Anca, a woman who lives on the Greek island of Lesbos and Laneyse who lives in the US.
Both of us wanted to do something, anything, to help the thousands of refugees that we in America see on the news, but for Anca, it is much more immediate. Every day she sees people who have just arrived on Lesbos as the trek across the island to registration point almost 50 miles away. They give her friendly greetings as the pass.
What to do? There are organizations like the UNHCR and the IRC that are providing food and clothing for the migrants. And then, Anca came up with the idea of strollers!
The people who are passing are carrying what little they have managed to bring with them and their children. Imagine walking all that way while carrying an infant or small child! With a stroller, the child is pushed and can easily sleep. Anyone who has managed their way through normal life with a child knows how indespensible strollers can be.
We have been buying strollers through Amazon.co.uk. That way, we can have them shipped directly to Anca's home and she does not have to pay the taxes on them.
The goal of this gofundme is to send 50 more strollers to Greece to assist the people who have made it safely that far.
The strollers have been running $120 US each, but about a third of that cost is the individual shipping. If we are able to buy and ship the strollers in bulk, we will be able to help even more people!
