Hello... my name is Keli. I am writing to you with a heavy heart to share a distressing incident that has befallen a dear friend. Lynette C. has been dedicatedly serving as the office person at our local church for the past eight years.

The events leading to this devastating incident began when Lynette, concerned about a strange smell from her home heater, sought a replacement from her landlord, only to be declined. Left with no alternative, she resorted to using a space heater.

On November 21, 2023, tragedy struck when Lynette's home in South San Francisco went up in flames. Sparks emanated from the outlet that a space heater was plugged into, igniting her sofa. Despite her efforts and the assistance of a neighbor, a second fire emerged and, tragically, Lynette lost everything she owned, leaving her with only the clothes on her back.

Compounding this heart-wrenching situation, Lynette did not have renter's insurance, and her landlord's property manager conveyed that their insurance would not cover her losses. Currently residing in a hotel, Lynette is seeking new housing and grappling with the challenge of rebuilding her life from scratch. This is an especially daunting task for anyone, and for Lynette, a senior, the hardship is unimaginable.
