Meet “The Porta-Botz!” four VEX Robotics World Championships Qualifying teams:
1.) HS students “Chaos” – Caitlyn, Evan William, Drake, and Brayden.
2.) HS students “MCJROTC Marine 1” – Nicholas, Logan and Inka.
3.) MS students “TFlex-Rex” – Aviana, Xavier, Zach, and Myron.
4.) MS students “Zoinks!” – Luke and Jaxson.
They’ve earned the privilege to represent Portage at the VEX World Robotics Championships in Dallas, TX. May 6th though the 11th.
Since last August, the dedicated students have spent long hours after school and taken several red-eye bus rides to weekend tournaments with dreams of making it big! These 4 teams, along with their program teammates, produced 31 tournament trophies, 7 State berths earning 4 State Awards, 4 National invitations bringing home 3 National Awards, and now 4 World’s qualifications. Remarkable!
In particular, The Porta-Botz! team “Chaos” is proud to be recognized with both the Indiana and World “Community Awards” this season for their community engagement.
The robotics program did an amazing job of making community connections and fund-raising. They generated the finances to pay for 11 robotic teams, registration fees, numerous tournament entry fees, expensive equipment, team apparel, travel accommodations, and meals. With all the success, funds are exhausted and these 4 teams need your assistance.
To reduce costs, the Robotics Booster Club has paid the $1800 per-team entry fee, or $5,400. (Chaos received an $1,800 Google grant for their Community Award.) Families have purchased the flights. So, the lodging, ground transportation, and meal expenses remain. With your assistance, World dreams will come true!
All donations are a direct investment in kids. 100% of the funds generated here go directly to the students.
VEX Worlds is the largest Robotics event in the World featuring thousands of robotic teams from numerous countries. The rich multicultural event is an opportunity of a lifetime.
Robotics is more than building, programming, and competing. Robotics develops skills for life including collaboration, communication, time management, planning, organization, creativity, problem-solving, persistence, and resiliency. That is why the program’s mission statement is “Changing Lives, One Robot at a Time!” Please help change the lives of teams “Chaos”, “MCJROTC”, TFlex Rex, and “Zoinks!”
This fundraiser is hosted by the Robotics Boosters Club, Inc., committed to promoting Robotics and STEM education and financially supporting “The Porta-Botz!”.
A large banner for the World Championships is being made to recognize all “Go Fund Me” donors. Consider giving at your level of comfort. And, please “share” our campaign to help spread the word.
Thanks for your generous support! The “Porta-Botz!” hope to make you proud!
