6/12/23- a quick update on Willow Bean girl. She has been doing amazing and has no set backs at all and has actually made strides upwards in her health. Her recent bloodwork all looks totally normal and her heart is no longer showing any fluid build up. Her urinalysis does still show that her kidneys are having issues processing things but it’s nothing to the extent it was at.
She has an upcoming appointment/follow up with her cardiologist on 6/28/23 to do another echocardiogram to check the mass they saw on the right side of her heart. This will cost about $400-$500 and I once again need to ask for help. Even just sharing this post is helpful! We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for each and every one of you guys. Thank you so much. She means the world to me. #bwansworld #beansfight
Hang in there baby girl, you got this. #beansworld #beansfight UPDATES: I know everyone loves this dog and wants to know what is going on. Willow is currently fighting kidney failure from an unknown reason. She has been at the Central Texas Veterinary Specality and Emergency Hospital since Saturday. Here is an update on her current status: Willow is fighting kidney failure for an unknown reason but she’s still fighting.. Her kidney values are very high as is her potassium levels and they are fighting to get those down with antibiotics. She’s also hypertensive so they are fighting her high blood pressure as well. She did eat a little last night but wasn’t interested in eating this morning. She was lepto tested and it was negative which is good but also sucks cause we have no answers as to why this is happening. She’s a strong girl and I know has one hell of a fight in her. All the thoughts and prayers sent her way are so much appreciated. She’s more than just my service dog, she is my absolute best friend and life line. 3/29/23 UPDATE: she has been discharged from the emergency hospital and back into the care of bluebonnet animal hospital. She gets to go home during the evenings and over night and we will continue to monitor her kidney levels daily. She is on palliative care at this time but I’m not willing to give up the fight and refuse to put a timeline on her life. I believe she will let me know when she cannot fight any longer, until then we will continue to give her all the supportive care her and her bean body needs to keep at this battle. 3/31/23 UPDATE: Willow went into a cardiac episode today while at the animal hospital. Her heart rate dropped and she began to have a serious life threatening arrhythmia. We have contacted CVCA (the cardiac specialist) and are awaiting further answers or treatments. We sent out several more lab samples today and we may not get answers from those until mid next week with it being a friday. All the prayers are welcomed and any help is always appreciated. Willow is still fighting hard as I am as her handler, owner and mostly her mother. I love this dog with everything I have. She has been through everything with me and I’m not ready to give up on her. Not until she tells me she is.4/1/23 UPDATE: Hey guys, As you know my dog Willow Bean is in the fight for her life right now. She has been diagnosed with PLN and had a very scary cardiac episode yesterday at work. What you guys may not know is that Willow is my service dog and with all her current health issues I signed her honorable discharge paperwork yesterday. Willow has retired from being the most perfect service dog that ever existed. THEREFORE, we are throwing her a retirement party on Monday at work. It will be during the entire day, so no time frame on the party. There will be a cake in the break room for all to have (just save the Bean girl a piece and don’t tell her doctors about it ). But the bean girl deserves the biggest bean party with all her friends on her way to the better place. Thank you all for your help with her lately and I love you guys like family. None of this is to say her fight is over. We are still waiting for lab results and awaiting to hear from specialists. I have fingers crossed I can try and get her into A&M and see if those amazing doctors can find an answer to all of this. Please help us get Willow there! 4/3/23- today willow has her retirement party at work. It was far more than I could have ever expected or asked for. We re-ran her bloodwork and her kidney values have improved with treatments but her anemia has gotten a bit worse. This girl is definitely keeping us on our toes! But if she wants to fight this much, I’ll willing to fight just as hard back! 4/8/23- today has been a harder day. Willow tested positive for Chagas and if you don’t know what that is, it’s from what we call a kissing bug. Most dogs that do develop symptoms have issues related to heart disease. These symptoms can be pretty vague but can also be very severe. Willow is one of the more severe when it comes to her symptoms but has also been improving on the medications the doctors have her on. On Monday we will start the treatment for Chagas disease and can just hope that she will be receptive to it. All the help is appreciate. Let’s keep up this fight for our favorite retired service dog. #beansworld #beansfight 4/11/23- Willow is being referred to CVCA (a cardiac specialist) and the soonest appointment is not until June 28th. We went ahead and scheduled that appointment and also placed her on a waiting list incase something comes up sooner. They will be doing a consultation as well as an echocardiogram during that appointment. Unfortunately it’s about $850 on top of her already very high medical bills. I am lucky that I will get a discount for being a veterinarian technician but any help with saving up for this appointment and also continuing her current treatments so she can make it to that appointment is so so so very appreciated. Please share if you are or not able to donate! Sharing alone helps so much!! Thank you guys so much for getting her this far. 4/13/23- yesterday morning we redid some chest X-rays on willow and our girl was transferred to AVES so that we could get her into CVCA sooner as her amazing doctor saw fluid around her heart. Unfortunately, her echocardiogram that was done at CVCA yesterday showed a mass on her heart that could be causing a number of the issues she is showing. They did go ahead and perform a small procedure to take the fluid off her heart for now and we have sent that out to be tested for cancer. The fluid around her heart may very well come back and we will deal with that as it comes but it seems Willows fight, as strong as it still is, may be coming to an end sooner than expected. Any help is so appreciated right now. This girl has been through so so much with me as my service dog but also my best friend. All the trauma I’ve dealt with, she has been right there by my side. She deserve so much more than this. I’ve been made aware that gofundme is charging quite a bit for donations so I will also give you guys my venmo account as well if that is an easier way to donate. But sharing this post is so very helpful also. Thank you all. I know she wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for everyone involved. @aubzz92 for venmo. #beansworld #beansfight
