Pray for Roman

Hi, my name is Kerri and I am crowdfunding for Haley Asch, my best friend's daughter. On Sunday, Haley's youngest son, Roman, age 2 years old, nearly drowned in Grandma's pool. What was supposed to be a fun day at Lala's turned into a living nightmare in an instant.

Lala and Roman love to swim together. With excitement, Roman followed Lala (aka Grandma) upstairs to change and while she was putting on her bathing suit, he slipped away, past the pool safety gate, and entered the pool at the steps. After a quick change, Lala found Roman in the pool near the steps. He had been underwater for less than 5mins. She immediately pulled him from the water and began CPR while 911 was dispatched. Roman was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital, one of the best in the Nation. In the helicopter, his little heart began to beat and his circulation returned.

It is day 3 and Roman is still unresponsive. His parents have not left his side. His Lala got to visit with him yesterday and as she comforted him his heart rate became elevated. We are taking this as a sign little Roman is fighting hard to live.

I have known Haley since she was in middle school. When she became a Mom, I watched her blossom into a loving and caring young lady. She went back to school and became a Dental Assistant and together with her long-term partner Titi, they created a beautiful life for their two boys.

Since the accident, Haley and Titi have not left the hospital. This is not something one budgets for, nor do they have accident insurance to help them with the loss of income. They still have a mortgage to pay, car payments, utilities, daycare, etc. I want us to help them be able to focus solely on their baby and not have to worry about their home. Their life has already been flipped upside down in an instant.

We have called upon all Pray Warriors. God can take a mess and make a miracle, this I know. While the Doctors do their very best to save baby Roman, I am asking you to donate a few dollars to help Haley and Titi navigate this unimaginable tragedy.

Please continue to pray and follow this page for updates. As of last night, there were some positive changes that allowed the doctors to administer a new medicine that may reverse some of the damage. It was the first time Haley and Titi were able to smile. God Bless this little family. May they continue to have moments that make them smile.
