Help Robbie Kick Cancer in the Face

Donation protected
In 2010, Robbie Ostler had been diagnosed with Seminoma - Non Seminoma Germ Cell Mix Testicular cancer and battled his way to victory through aggressive chemotherapy.  It was a great triumph and a new chapter would begin. He had tackled cancer, kicked it in the face and walked away like Joe Montana after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in the super bowl of 1989 .  Although Joe cool was nick named the comeback king, we can find no words to describe Robbie's recent comeback.

On March 30th 2015 Robbie was burdened with troublesome news after receiving the results of a recent PET scan after suffering from intense pain in his abdomen.  He was told that he had a recurrence of cancer in the form of a 4.9cm Teratoma Tumor on his Vena Cava Artery below his kidney.  In the next coming weeks Robbie will undergo a post chemo RPLND (Retroperitoneal lymph node dissection) to remove the tumor and all the lymph nodes in his abdomen and lower back.  Although the tumor seems so small, the amount of work surgeons will have to go through to remove it is daunting. The operation itself is long and troublesome, removing each individual lymph node and tactfully cutting away at the tumor without disturbing the artery and its blood flow. Doctors have informed Robbie that they are optimistic and recovery is hopeful, but he is to be out of work for nearly 4 months due to the complicated surgery. Robbie will be unable to work during this recovery and to make matters worse, he does not qualify for any disability assistance in the state of Oregon nor does his workplace offer such a thing. Let alone trying to process the return of his cancer, Robbie is left to do his best to manage a high insurance deductible for the procedure and come up with a way to pay his living expenses during this lengthy recovery.

Robbie is someone who lives his life to the fullest, never looking back and always keeping his head up high. Robbie continues to overcome life’s challenges without complaint and ceases to give up. His exorbitant medical bill will rise alongside with the costs of living.  Any donation toward his cause is greatly appreciated and no gift is too small!

Thank you for taking your time to read Robbie’s story.

With great appreciation,

Robbie’s immediate family.
