Recall NVUSD

Recall Napa Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees is a group of concerned Napa Valley Unified School District citizens who believe the current members of the Board of Trustees need to be replaced for the following reasons:

NVUSD ran up a deficit of over $12 million. To resolve this, the NVUSD Board of Trustees eliminated 110 full-time positions and drastically reduced the hours and benefits of many other employees

The Board entered into a contract with Verizon for placement of a cell tower on Napa High School property, and then attempted to withdraw from the contract. As a result, Verizon sued the NVUSD. After wasting time and money, the District essentially gave up on the lawsuit and complied with the contract terms.

The Board mishandled the investigation of the Napa High School football hazing incident.

The mishandling of the hazing incident led to the resignation of the football coaching staff.

In the midst of the hazing incident and with the deficit increasing, the Board created further turmoil by introducing a recommendation to remove the Napa School Indian symbol. Although the Board has been asked on multiple occasions about the costs to remove and replace the symbol, it has still not provided the information.

The decision to recall the entire Board was reached after serious consideration. The students of the Napa Valley Unified School District deserve better.  The committee is seeking support from all citizens, by their encouraging registered voters residing in the Napa Valley Unified School District to sign the petitions for recall.  Financial contributions to cover recall expenses are also appreciated from all recall supporters.
