Flood Relief for Andrew and Emily Pope's home

A devastating flash flood destroyed the basement of our son and daughter-in-law's home on Tuesday evening, May 23rd, 2023 in Idaho Falls. A quick and dangerous storm cell moved in and dropped an enormous amount of rain with hardly any warning. Their basement was filled with almost six feet of water. It caused severe damage to their home as well as some of their neighbors. They do not live in a flood zone so it was unexpected. Tragically, there was nothing they could do but watch the water destroy everything they have worked so hard to build. Unfortunately, the city's drain system could not keep up with the amount of water that flowed down the street. Several of their appliances were housed in the basement; their furnace, freezer, water heater and washer/dryer. All will need to be replaced due to the damage to their electrical and internal exponents and their entire basement will need to be gutted and cleaned.
