Help get Grape Ape Music off the ground.

It all started last summer (2024). I have always wanted to reinvent the Beatles music into a jazz album, so I started arranging the music in July. We started recording the next month in August and brought in some amazing talent. The goal was that each song would be completely different. There are two songs with a 17-piece big band - "Come Together" and a swing version of "Penny Lane". Peter Eldridge from New York Voices sings lead on a bossa nova version of "For No One", which includes a string quartet and a tenor sax solo by Clark Bondy. The band "We Three" recorded their version of "Oh Darling". The song "Something" is arranged in 7/4 time with a soprano sax lead. There are two vocal jazz songs - an arrangement of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" that includes Grammy-Winning guitarist Doug Rappaport and a string quartet, and then a fun version of "Got to Get You Into My Life.

This project has been so much fun, and the end result will be amazing. It is the impetus for me to start this next project, which we are calling Grape Ape Music. The goal of the project is to get all of Dana Libonati's big band music, vocal jazz music, choir music, piano music and children's music recorded and the sheet music converted to pdf then get all of this onto a well-designed website. It will likely take at least four to six months to accomplish. The eventual goal is to open Grape Ape Music up to other composers and arrangers who can't signed with the big publishing companies and give them an outlet for their music.
