Hi my name is Janet, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved mother, Anita. 

 On July 5, we rushed Mom to the Emergency Department at Trillium Hospital after she experienced severe stomach pain. At first, doctors suspected a gastritis flare-up. Blood tests revealed she was also suffering from anemia, and she was prescribed Pantoprazole to manage her symptoms. 

 But just a few weeks later, on July 31, the pain became unbearable. We returned to the ER, hoping for answers. After a CT scan and further testing, we received heartbreaking news: Mom has upper rectal cancer, and it has metastasized to her liver. 

 This diagnosis has completely changed our lives. We are now facing a long and difficult journey—one filled with medical appointments, treatments, and emotional challenges. The road ahead will be physically, emotionally, and financially demanding.
