Hello, my name is Ashan Gabrielpillai,
Co-founder and Executive Director of the Community Paramedic Integration Project (C.P.I.P.). From August 14th to September 2nd, 2024, I will be in Sri Lanka to engage with potential community partners, stakeholders, and government organizations who may contribute to our mission's success.
Our mission is to improve health outcomes by introducing community paramedics who provide essential healthcare services directly within communities. By focusing on preventive care, health education, and early intervention, we aim to reduce the need for hospital visits and ensure that everyone has access to quality medical care. This is a multifaceted initiative that requires time and dedication, both of which I am fully committed to providing.
My passion for this project stems from my deep love for Sri Lanka and its people. Inspired by my experiences growing up in Canada and my profession as a paramedic serving my community, this project has been my dream for the past three years. I hope to gain the support of the Sri Lankan government, its resources, and the people of Sri Lanka.
I envision a future where Sri Lanka's healthcare gaps are bridged by community paramedics trained by our organization, ready to serve their respective communities. Together, we can make a significant impact on the health and well-being of Sri Lanka's rural and underserved populations.
As we are a fairly new organization, all expenses are covered out-of-pocket. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help cover travel expenses for our first trip to Sri Lanka.
