Shivani Aasha Maharaj was more than just a 13 year old girl, she was a bestower. She gave a positive and inspiring light on those around her. She had a passionate heart in everything she did and wanted to do. She was and is still loved by her family and those her generous heart touched. She befriended those that lacked confidence and self-esteem, she gave to those less fortunate than her and absolutely adored animals. Before Shivani passed away she would have many conversations with her mother about donating clothes to children and their families in different parts of the world such as the Dominican Republic and the Brentwood Women's Shelter. She never wanted to see anyone suffering, or those living without everyday necessities. Shivani passed away suddenly on August 19, 2015 and was unable to donate and volunteer.  Shivani's family wants to create a place where they can gather funds to donate to many local shelters and organizations that Shivani wished to participate and be a part of. The family has already donated to the Team Hulken Fund as well as Adams Middle School for her classmates in need of money for field trips or lunch, and donated to the school band, which she was proudly a part of. The family wants to continue to donate in and around Brentwood and the Bay Area on her behalf. There is no limitation to where the money would go as long it helps the many people and animals in need. Please help us continue Shivani's Legacy in giving to the wonderful people and animals in need in our own backyard. Let us continue to keep Aasha (hope) in the world.
