I was evicted over a month ago and I've been living in my truck ever since, and it's going to take a small fortune to get into another place with an eviction on my record. I recently started working somewhat regularly for myself, but the hours are still part time and sporadic. Being homeless means, when I'm not working, I spend a lot of time in my truck driving (moving) around avoiding the law because parking in public places for to long is a good way to attract attention to the fact that you're homeless. They don't take kindly to homeless people here in Florida . I have a place to park from sunset to sunrise, but that could end at anytime if I'm caught. So far I've been lucky I guess. I've managed to pay off a loan after having to buy a new-to-me work truck when my old truck died a few months ago due to the generosity of strangers, and work starting to pick up, I have been able to keep my phone, insurance, repairs and maintenance on my truck, gas tank, food, sundries, and food and flea treatments for my cat in check. My cat is stuck living 100% outdoors with an old neighbor doing what she can to keep an eye on him, but I have to drive quite a few miles twice a day to make sure he's fed and eating. Apparently, I'm also paying to feed every stray and outdoor cat in the neighborhood. I am the only human my cat will relax and eat with, so two trips daily takes a a bit out of the gas tank, and forces me to sit in front of the house and neighborhood I used to call home. It's quite depressing.
