As you can see, clicking on the gift registry on our website has brought you to this page. Since our situation is a little different, we aren't in need of traditional wedding gifts at the moment. Instead of buying things now and using them in a couple of years, when our tastes/needs might have changed, we have decided that we want you to be part of our honeymoon!
We would really appreciate having some help funding our trip, which will take place early December in Charleston and Orlando (we need to stay in the U.S. because of Luis's immigration status). Here are some of the plans we have for our honeymoon, so that you know what the funds would go towards:
In Charleston, the more romantic, low-key portion of our honeymoon, we plan on visiting Rainbow Row, Battery Park, and the historical sites. We'd like to check out a couple of distilleries or breweries as well as take a trip to Sullivan's Island and/or Folly Beach. We look forward to being there during special holiday events such as the Festival of the Lights, the Parade of Boats, and the Christmas Market. Other ideas include going to a jazz club, doing a ghost tour, getting a couples massage, or adopting a nice Charleston kitty cat from the Pounce Cat Cafe and Wine Bar. Just kidding... sort of...
In researching food options, we have found no shortage of highly-recommended bbq places. We are also looking forward to dining at some of Charleston's finest restaurants such as the Peninsula Grill, Husk, or the Charleston Grill. If anyone has other suggestions, we would love to hear them!
Orlando will be all about having fun and going on as many rides as possible! We'll go to Universal Studios, Island of Adventure, and Disneyland (Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios). By being there early in December we'll get to enjoy seeing everything beautifully decorated for the holidays but hopefully without all the crowds. We look forward to all the light shows and parades and the Christmas-decorated Harry Potter World.
In terms of restaurants, we'd like to go to The Plaza Restaurant (Magic Kingdom, Disney), Enzo's on the Lake, and The Leaky Cauldron (Harry Potter's Universal Studios restaurant). If anyone has any other recommendations, we'd love to hear them!
