Hello my name is Elena Ghenoiu, I am based in Los Angeles CA. I met Ioana a month ago and her story really tugged my heart strings. I am trying to help Ioana raise the funds she needs to improve her and her 2 daughters living conditions.
Ioana is a general practitioner, a single mother, with 2 beautiful daughters, who, unfortunately, have a fairly advanced form of autism. Sarah, the eldest daughter(8 years old), learned English from TV and YouTube and it is easier for her to communicate in English than in Romanian. Ana is 2 years old and is a sweetheart, but, unfortunately, she was also diagnosed with a form of autism, in December, and will start a therapy program, immediately after the holidays.
Because Ioana's partner could not have babies, the two of them decided to take a sample from a donor. After she became pregnant, her partner's behavior changed drastically. He became aggressive and abusive, started beating her and frightening events followed. In the 7th month of her pregnancy, he starved her and he beat her. In the summer time when it was very hot outside, he locked her "by accident" in the car, with the windows closed. After 2 abusive years, she left him.
Ioana then found herself in a new relationship that she thought would be stable. She gets pregnant, this time with her partner, not a donor. The story changes radically when he finds out that they will have a daughter (Ana) and not a son. Sadly again beatings follow and, in the end (happy end), he leaves her.
Soon, Ioana's parents die, leaving her alone and with all their debts.
She is struggling to keep the house. She lives in fear of eviction, and her salary is too low to cover large debts, inheritance, child needs and therapy sessions.
The apartment is in an advanced state of degradation, mold and dampness have already begun to create problems. Sarah developed an unpleasant form of allergic rhinitis. The house is not insulated. The radiators are rusty and broken and do not withstand the cold of winter. Because of the cold, the three girls sleep in one room. Ioana sleeps on the floor, on a improvised kind of mattress. Ioana este medic generalist, o mama singura, cu 2 fetite superbe, care, din pacate, au o forma de autism destul de avansata. Sarah, fata cea mare, a invatat singura engleza (de la TV si de pe YouTube) si ii este mai usor sa comunice in limba engleza decat in limba romana. Ana are 2 ani si este o dulce, insa, din pacate, si ea a fost diagnosticata cu o forma de autism, in decembrie, urmand sa inceapa un program de terapie, imediat dupa sarbatori.
Din cauza ca partenerul Ioanei nu a putut avea copii, cei doi s-au decis sa ia o proba de la un donator. Dupa ce a ramas gravida, comportamentul partenerului s-a modificat drastic. Au urmat batai cumplite si evenimente infricosatoare. In luna a 7-a de sarcina, acesta nu o lasa sa manance, o batea, iar in vara a inchis-o "accidental" in masina, cu geamurile inchise, afara fiind foarte cald, lucru care pe el l-a distrat foarte tare, razand copios cand a revenit după 20-30 de minute la masina, timp in care Ioana a incercat sa sparga geamul de la masina. Acesta nu putea accepta gandul ca Sarah nu este copilul lui... Dupa doi ani de chin Ioana si-a luat inima in dinti si l-a parasit.
Ioana a crezut ca si-a regasit linistea alaturi de un nou partener, despre care spera sa ii fie sot pentru toata viata. Apare o noua sarcina! Povestea se schimba radical cand noul partner afla ca vor avea o fata (Ana) si nu un baiat. Urmeaza batai si, intr-un final (fericit), o paraseste...
La scurt timp, parintii Ioanei mor, lasand-o singura si cu toate datoriile neplatite.
Se lupta din greu sa isi pastreze casa. Traieste in frica evacuarii, iar salariul este prea mic ca sa acopere datoriile mari, primite mostenire, intretinerea copiilor si sedintele de terapie.
Apartamentul este intr-o stare avansata de degradare, iar mucegaiul si igrasia deja au inceput sa faca victime. Sarah a dezvoltat o forma de rinita alergica neplacuta. Nu exsita izolatie. Caloriferele sunt ruginite si nu fac fata frigului iernii, sunt iesite din perete, curg si stau sprijinite pe caramizi. Din cauza frigului, fetele dorm toate intr-o singura camera. Ioana doarme pe jos, pe o saltea improvizata. Este nevoie urgenta de renovare! Impreuna le putem creea conditii decente de viata. Ajuta-ma sa le ajut! Te rog, doneaza cat poti!
