Justice for Layne Schneider
Donation protected
January 22, 2013. 22 year old Layne Schneider was brutally beaten to death in his home. He was found burning in his roommate's pickup truck 1.5 miles from his home in the very early morning hours.
Many details surrounding his death simply did not add up to an accident. The poorly staged "accident" left behind a bloody crime scene inside the house and a bloody trail on the outside lawn of Layne's home leading up to the pickup's passenger side door, where Layne's lifeless body had been hoisted up and placed inside. The truck was then found shortly after on fire in a ditch 1.5 miles from his home, due to the extent of the fire, many important clues were lost. The condition of the pickup when recovered has led many to believe that the accident scene had been staged.
Autopsy reports show that Layne suffered a skull fracture. He had been struck in the back of the head with a pipe like blunt object. Also both of his legs were broken.
Schneider's family hope to find justice through a civil court jury trial, because no criminal charges have yet been filed in their son's brutal beating death. Though this civil suit will not bring Layne back, it may help bring closure to the family and freinds that are still hurting. All funds raised will be used to assist with court costs and attorney fees.
Donations are being sought to help fund the family's commitment to provide justice for Layne and the citizens of Northeast Iowa. We encourage all who can donate, to do so, all amounts, large or small will gladly be accepted.
