Widow Dale Survival Fund
My good friend Dale needs your help.
Three weeks ago, Dale suddenly and unexpectedly lost her husband and sole caretaker, Samy. Samy was a beloved French teacher at the Alliance Francaise in Los Angeles, and had previously gone into remission from cancer. His untimely passing has created a severe hardship both emotionally and financially for Dale, who suffers from a spinal condition that forces her to be wheelchair-bound and suffer from extreme memory loss. Dale is unable to take care of herself, and we are stepping in to ensure she has food, utilities, and money for rent and medical expenses.
Dale has no family or community around to help her to cover these immediate expenses. Due to her medical condition, she is isolated within her home and has no way of transporting herself to pick up groceries, medications, or other basic supplies. Samy's French students have kindly donated what they can, but so far this has only covered one month’s rent. Dale is now facing a very real eviction threat and we are working to ensure that she stays housed and fed.
Sadly, Dale is also unable to afford the burial and funeral costs for Samy. Whatever funds are raised here will go towards those costs and any other expenses in connection with this process.
Never have I met someone so lovely, sweet, and deserving as Dale, and she really needs our help.
Until we are able to get Social Services involved, I am asking you to please donate whatever you can so we can come to her aid and make sure she can stay in her home, buy food, and pay her bills for the time being. Even the smallest amount would help.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
