Nina’s Journey

Hi everyone,

We want to share Nina’s story with you. Nina Shala is 2 years old. As you can tell from the last name, Nina is a cherished family member. In the past 6 months Nina’s life has gone from playing

with dolls to a diagnosis that has changed her world. Nina has been diagnosed with an extremely rare disease called Atypical Hemolyic Uremic Syndrome. She has spent the last six months in hospital where her parents have barely been able to visit her. Nina lives in Kosovo where the medical system is no where near what it is here in Canada. Her family has had to relocate to Serbia so that she can get treatment. To this day her family has spent over $100000 Euros on medical costs. They have reached their limit and need help.

In order to continue treatment, the family will need another $150 000 Euros. This number is impossible for a family living anywhere let alone in Kosovo.
