Brittany is a 32 year old single mother that has suffered with physical and mental health issues for years. Recently, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She received a double mastectomy in December, 2018. During the surgery, doctors had to remove 13 lymph nodes and found 10 tumors. Brittany started chemotherapy on January 16th, 2019. The process is trying with many side effects for most but Brittany is also a type 1 diabetic. The side effects of chemotherapy can make it extremely challenging for a diabetic as it becomes difficult to keep blood sugar levels in check. Steroids are often given for the nausea but those raise glucose levels significantly. Her physicians are concerned whether her body is strong enough to handle the effects of the chemotherapy and followed radiation needed to kill the cancer but we are optimistic.

Brittany is unable to work at this time due to the surgery and after care therapy that is needed. This has caused a great hardship on her family as Brittany has a home and is a single mother of 11 year old twins. The doctors have told her that it will be at least a year of continued treatment until she is capable of resuming a normal schedule. We, her family, are praying for some support to help bridge the financial gap until Brittany can complete the cancer treatment required and get back on her feet. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.
