Hi family and friends,
About one year ago, May of 2014, my cousin CJ lost the battle against drug addiction while in recovery. Drug addiction and related overdoses are on the rise with young people on Long Island and my family is working hard to prevent another family from experiencing the pain of losing a child to drugs.
What causes addiction? There is no single cause and it can be hard to figure out why some people become addicted and others don't.
Since the tragic loss of CJ, my family has started a non-profit foundation established in his name, The Beat Lives On. The goal of the foundation is to help those fighting the battle against drug addiction and to raise funds to sponsor beds and outpatient support for those continuing recovery from addiction.
Please help me and my family raise money to go towards preventing another life lost.

On May 17th @ 9:30am the 1st annual "The Beat Lives on 5K Fun Run/Walk" in memory of CJ will be held at the Venetian Shores Park in Lindenhurst.
