MRI Maakers raising funds for Shetland MRI Scanner

We've been overwhelmed with the support the MRI Maakers have had in their quest to raise funds for a much needed MRI Scanner in Shetland.

The majority of those funds have been raised by selling patterns from the Harriet's Collection, which began with Harriet's hat and has since been expanded to include Harriet's Headband, Harriet's Fingerless Gloves, Harriet's Gloves, and Harriet's Mittens. The MRI Maakers have been busy knitting finished items which have been sold raising thousands too. All of the proceeds from these have gone directly to the scanner appeal.

However, from time to time we've had extremely generous donations from all around the world such as the Woolly Thistle donating the profits from her Harriet's Hat yarn packs, and the Morehouse Farm donating $1 for every skein of 2ply yarn sold for a month. There have been other individual donations too.

Marie Wallin is donating £1 from every sale of her book Meadow to the MRI Scanner appeal and has included a feature on the MRI Maakers and the scanner appeal within it. She suggested a GoFundMe page was the easiest way for people to donate directly to the appeal and we agree so have set up this page.

So now people who have been inspired by what the MRI Maakers are doing to donate to the Shetland MRI Scanner Appeal can do so here.
