My name is Sally Salzer-I am the best friend of Krystina Frangos-who is a single mother to her two children Carter and Madion, ages 5 and 3. Within the last few days Krystina was recently faced with a very difficult decision regarding her 5 month old Neice, Mariah. Mariahs parents are both recovering drugs addicts, and have recently relapsed-causing both parents to lose custody of their daughter. Mariah is currently on oxygen in the hospital recovering from a bout of pneumonia, but is expected to make a full recovery and be released from the hospital by the end of this week. Krystina has stepped up so selflessly for this baby girl since the day she was born, putting her own kids and her own life on hold to make sure she was always taken care of-unfortunately, the situation has escalted quickly, and Krystina has been granted custody of Mariah. This was an easy decision for her. I have known this woman for 15 years and there is not a doubt in my mind that she would give the clothes off her back to a stranger-so to her, if she could give this baby even the slightest chance at a wonderful and safe life, you know she did it in a heartbeat. She has the biggest most generous heart of anyone I know, and there is not a doubt in my mind that Mariah will be in the best care with her-but this will not be an easy road ahead for her.
Krystina is a single mom-she works full-time in order to give her kids the BEST possible life and education. Krystina has recently enrolled back in school at Bryan & Stratton. She has just recently gotten back on her feet and has been seeing a brighter future ahead for her and her kids. Although she would, she cannot do this alone. She needs this amazing wonderful community to come together for her and for the new addition to her home.
Krystina has a long road ahead and will be returning to court in May after the investigation with CPS is finalized. She will need to hire a lawyer for herself. She will need to be certified as a foster parent. She will need to continue (and is currently continuing) to work full-time. She is continuing her schooling and determined to finish on top. She will need to continue to have her children and Mariah in full-time daycare-as well as all the other extra curriculars that the kids are involved in. She is going to be looking for a new place to live in order to accomodate another child. She needs this help financially more than I can express, but she would never ask for it. Please, I am asking from the bottom of my heart to consider donating to this amazing woman and her beautiful family. She is doing something only the most selfless of people would do, and there is nobody better for this job.
Thank you for being the most amazing community of people-and if you cannot donate, please send love and healing to baby Mariah and Krystina-and that one day they will find peace through this situation.
I would also like to take this time to mention this****
If you know someone who is struggling with a drug addiction, PLEASE reach out to them and encourage them to get help. If you know someone who is caring for children and struggling with a drug addiction, please call CPS. Everything is kept confidential. It is SO important that our children are in the care of safe and stable people. Please pray for Mariah's parents and their healing during this time.
