Matt Oswalt Needs Help!
Doação protegida
Matt Oswalt needs your help. On February 29, Matt went home sick from work because he was experiencing serious abdominal pain. Later that day, unable to bear it any longer, he went to the Good Shepherd Clinic in Longview, TX with the hope of some relief. Unfortunately, Matt was diagnosed with diverticulitis and a perforated bowel; he was immediately transferred and admitted to Good Shepherd hospital. After 4 days in the hospital, he was released on March 4 and feeling much better. However, on March 5 he began to feel sick again. Rather than taking any chances, he went back to the ER at Good Shepherd. They diagnosed him with what they thought was an abscess on his colon but wanted to do exploratory surgery to see if there was anything else going on. Matt decided to get a second opinion, as he did not want to have surgery unless it was absolutely necessary. On March 6, Matt went to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, TX and was admitted for an abscess. Unfortunately, the infection and abscess don't seem to be doing a lot better two days later, so surgery may be necessary. He is in pain, and as you can imagine, very worried and upset.
What makes all of this worse is that Matt has no health insurance. All of the hospital stays, tests, scans, etc. are costing him out-of-pocket. Because Matt has missed so much work from being in the hospital, he is in serious danger of losing his job. He and his wife have two sons (Jordan 15 and Carter 13) to take care of. His wife, Victoria, is currently the sole provider. Matt is worried about his financial state during a time when he should be simply worrying about getting better. This is why I reach out to you today. Matt needs financial help so he can focus on getting better.
For those of you who don't know my brother, he is an amazing member of his community in Big Sandy, Texas. He's raised over $10,000 for community members in need, ranging from those suffering financially because of cancer and other medical bills to people who have lost everything in a fire. He not only helps the community, but he is also very involved with Big Sandy High School, raising almost $3000 last year alone for the athletic booster club. Matt also works with the youth in the area. He and his wife have an open-door policy when it comes to kids: if they need or want a place to hang out, stay, or just talk, they are always more than welcomed. He encourages the community's youth to go to church, to work hard, and to commit fully to whatever endeavors they pursue. Matt is one of those people that if you're lucky enough to know him, you will have made a friend that will be there for you no matter what.
For those of you that do know Matt, I don't have to tell you how amazing he is. He's done SO much to help so many of us. It's time we help him and his family because that's what he would do for us.
Matt and his family need help with medical bills and daily living expenses. Anything you can donate will be much appreciated and put to very good use. I thank you, my family thanks you, and most of all, Matt and his family thank you.
