This is my friend Carrie. I've known her since the early 2000s, where we met over a love for a local radio station. She is one of the kindest and gentle souls I've known, and her love for cosplay is unlike any other of my friends. It's so awesome to see Carrie out at a local con.
Carrie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 C metastatic endometrial cancer. It has spread to her intestines, lymph nodes, esophagus, and she has an 80% free floating mass in her abdomen. This causes a great degree of pain for Carrie. Carrie's cancer is no longer treatable and she has been given 3-8mos left to enjoy time with her husband Gerald and her amazing 12 year old daughter, Autumn.
Gerald and Carrie recently moved to Florida for her treatment, after losing their home in California due to economic conditions that came about due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Gerald is currently unemployed and waiting on his first unemployment check from the state.
In the meantime the family is without medical insurance, and is short over $100 a mo to afford the palliative medications that would give Carrie the comfort she needs and deserves, so that she can enjoy the time she has with her family. Nobody deserves to live in pain and especially not at the end of their life. Carrie deserves better.
Please help me give back to Carrie, for all she has done for me. Thank you.
