Help Fund my YWAM Basketball DTS

Donation protected
My name is Matthew Sipling, and have been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Pittsburgh's Basketball Discipleship Training School (DTS) that begins March 16th, 2016, and will continue until August 12th, 2016 (5 months).

This ministry offers a unique and powerful opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the men and women of Pittsburgh through the use of Basketball. I can't even tell you how excited I am to make use of the sport I love to see people awakened to the love of Christ and be drawn nearer to Him! As described on YWAM Pittsburgh's website (http://www.ywampittsburgh.org/basketball/basketball-dts.html) :

"The main focus of the BDTS is 'to win men for the Master through the gym'. This is accomplished by playing pick-up games and running camps and tournaments. During the school, you will have opportunities to play at inner-city courts as well as some indoor recreation courts throughout the city of Pittsburgh as well as international courts in order to see lives forever changed.

Each week of lecture phase is filled with class topics such as Hearing the Voice of God, The Father Heart of God, Inductive Bible Study and Missions. Although the Lecture Phase of the BDTS runs alongside the VAM-DTS (Visual Arts and Media DTS), there is a separate focus on basketball used as outreach for the BDTS. Throughout this phase, you will be instructed on how to set up camps and run drills for your outreach phase.

The outreach phase will be spent playing and teaching Basketball to all ages while using the game to share the love of Christ. Each day will be filled with pick-up games, clinics, and tournaments. The best part comes after when we get to share the good news of Jesus. We have such great responses from these outreaches that we have then been able to continue on in discipleship with these new believers!"

The first three months of this DTS will be spent in Pittsburgh, where I will be taking classes and participating in running tournaments, clinics, and pick-up games throughout the community - with a focus on spreading the Gospel and making disciples throughout. Then, I will be spending two months overseas (Destination is TBD!) participating in the same kinds of ministries and undoubtedly ministering in ways I can't imagine right now.

I am a broken vessel; there's no question about that. I am so grateful for this opportunity to be used by the God who saved me and who is continually molding my imperfect heart towards Himself.  His power is the only reason why I am confident in saying that my involvement in this ministry will further the cause of Christ - and I am sure that it, as a whole, will be the vessel through which God makes His Gospel known to many.

That confidence is why I am asking for support, both monetarily and through prayer. (I mean that prayer part - I need it, and it is so powerful.) I will need a total of $6500 to be able to participate in this DTS. This amount includes lecture fees, materials for classes, housing fees, food, transportation(Airfare and otherwise) for the entirety of the 5-month DTS.

The first $2995 will be due March 16th, the day that I will be heading to Pittsburgh to start the journey. The remaining $3500 will be due by the end of the trip - August 12th, 2016. I am asking for you to give when,  if, and in whatever way the Lord prompts you to. I am so excited to see how the Lord works in the face of what, to me, seems like an impossible amount to raise.

There are so many ministries out there that need funding, and I am so encouraged that there are men and women who unfailingly provide that support by the providence of God. That's a beautiful way the body of Christ works! My part will be a small one in this ministry of YWAM whose broader goal is to see souls saved and God glorified through it. I need all the help I can get, and I will appreciate every penny that is donated.

Thank you so much for caring, for reading, for praying, and for donating! God bless!
