Niesha's Story:
Niesha Neal is an exceptional individual who inspires everyone she meets. A devoted wife, mother, and advocate, she selflessly prioritizes the needs of others. Whether volunteering in her community, raising awareness about domestic violence and minority health, or collaborating with multiple kidney organizations, Niesha consistently works to make a positive impact.
In 2015, Niesha was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) resulting from severe kidney damage caused by diabetes. Despite this challenge, she pursued her education while undergoing dialysis treatments and completed her bachelor's degree in 2017, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to personal growth.
In May 2017, Niesha received the incredible news that she was placed on the national transplant list for a kidney and pancreas. After several unsuccessful transplant calls, she finally underwent a life-changing transplant on
June 18, 2021. This milestone marked a significant turning point in Niesha's life.
Now, celebrating two years with her new organs, Ren and Stimpy, Niesha dedicates her time as a Patient Subject Matter Expert, Peer Mentor, Board Director, and Member. She provides support to dialysis patients, advocates for mental health and wellness, and assists kidney patients and domestic violence survivors.
Despite her accomplishments, Niesha still faces financial challenges. She is actively seeking support for post-transplant medical expenses, professional development, and the establishment of her Life Coaching business. These funds will enable her to continue providing education and support to high-risk medical patients and domestic violence survivors, empowering them on their own journeys.
