6,000 Kilometre Cycle Ride for Eating Disorders
On the 12th of May, I will have started a 6,000km cycle across Europe. I am using this as an opportunity to raise money for a cause that is close to my heart. Anorexia has affected me and my family significantly. I won’t go into too much detail, but one thing I learned through the experience is the organisations dealing with illnesses such as anorexia are not able to handle the scale or complexity of the issue. An example is the NHS which has too few beds, for far too many patients, neglecting other aspects of help necessary when dealing with a disease like this.
When talking about anorexia, the extent of the damage caused and the difficulty of coping without external help, is often underestimated. This is why I want to raise money for Beat. So if you have a few spare pounds to donate it would mean the world.

Beat is the UK's eating disorder charity. Our purpose is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. We do this by working directly with sufferers and their families, and by using that experience to highlight the challenges they face and campaign for change. Our vision is a society where people with eating disorders experience care and understanding, and where they can quickly access treatment that supports a rapid and sustained recovery.
Also, a massive thank you to Harriet and the rest of the Crawleys for funding this amazing journey.
