Tim's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
In less than two weeks, in March, my dad Tim Dunn went from thinking he had a cold of some kind that would just not go away to finding out he has lung cancer. Over our spring break we got heartbreaking news for three days straight, each day being harder news than the day before. We were hopeful the cancer originally found on the lung would be able to be removed and he would be cancer free. However, we found out that the cancer had spread to many areas in his bones from his knees up to the neck. Not only had it spread but he has a few tumors that are in very serious and scary areas. Two in his c1 and c2 on the spine, a third on his femur, and a fourth in his hip, that they chose to do immediate radiation on.  These four are consuming a large areas of his bones. He is currently in a neck brace and advised to use a crutch to remind him to be careful while walking and getting around. My dad and mom received really difficult news that he is literally fighting for time and quality of life.
On Thursday, March 26th, he started his 10 days of radiation in hopes that the tumors will reduce in size.  And if we understand right, chemo will start mid April. Our prayer is that the tumors will reduce in size, and that the bones that are effected will be able to heal somehow. We do not know all the details of what this journey will be, or how long it will be, but we know that there is a greater purpose in this than the cancer itself.

With much thought and prayer we as a family decided to set up this fund to do two things. To help with the medical expenses not covered by insurance, and for my mom to take my dad on a vacation she had hoped to before this diagnosis. SO many of you have asked us all how you can help and we just were not sure during the shock period.  With my dads time frame uncertain we are hoping to raise enough money for mom to take dad away for several nights to a quiet place away from doctors and treatments as soon as possible, for them to be able to focus on one another. A place that they found and desired to go someday, the Metolius River Lodges.
If you are on facebook we will also be updating there, things that Tim and Belinda could or would enjoy during the next weeks and months. But most of all we ask for prayers. Prayers for continued peace in the journey and strength through whatever treatments they will be doing. Prayers for comfort when we are afraid, and for understanding, especially for the grandchildren. Their Papa is their world and they, like us, are all processing this in different ways.
Thank you for considering helping with a last trip for my parents to have and the days ahead with unexpected bills. They are doing well and trusting God is using this journey for a great purpose. Just within our families we see God doing big things already. God is good ALL the time and we choose to praise HIM in this storm.
