Olympic Trials

I'm Zach Petronic, a North Allegheny Grad and University of Pittsburgh Student. At the end of this month I'll be traveling to Sarasota, Florida to compete in the Olympic Trials for rowing that will be from April 20th to the 24th. With the winner of each event earning the bid to represent the US in Rio this summer.






My goal at the Olympic Trials is to go there and get a positive racing experience while implementing the changes and training from the last year. I'm looking to throw down some solid races and compete to my fullest potential at the present time while my greater goal is the Olympic Games in 2020. I'm currently under Coach Daniel Grancea at the University of Pittsburgh and I can't explain quite how positive of an experience that's been. I'm extremely grateful for the direction and coaching as well as also having training partners that share the same goals and ambitions.

The money donated will be going towards travel expenses, the same as my trip this past summer to the 2015 World University Games this all entirely self funded. The amount of training (and school) really prevents me from working enough to support myself AND go to away competitions. I'm extremely thankful to all who have donated in the past. You truly have no idea how much the tiniest amount of support means.
