Support for CC & Family
Donation protected
Jim and Jennifer Charbonneau have two beautiful daughters, Ciera (CC) 9 yrs old and Bailey 8 yrs old. They are the most caring, kind hearted, and selfless people I have ever met.
In 2005, their daughter Ciera was born with Zellweger syndrome. Zellweger syndrome is associated with impaired neuronal migration, neuronal positioning, and brain development. In addition, individuals with Zellweger syndrome can show a reduction in central nervous system (CNS) myelin (particularly cerebral), which is referred to as hypomyelination. Myelin is critical for normal CNS functions, and in this regard, serves to insulate nerve fibers in the brain. Individuals, like Ciera, have faced a progressive loss of hearing and vision.
Ciera is an amazing, fun, loving little girl. With the help of her family, close friends and teachers, she is learning more and more everyday.
On Sunday, August 9th, Ciera was brought to the ER for some testing. The Drs found an aneurism in the middle of her brain and admitted her into PCU. On Monday, August 10th, Ciera underwent an angioplasty procedure where the Drs were able to tie off the aneurism.
The most recent update is Ciera may have Moyamoya syndrome, a disease in which certain arteries in the brain are constricted. Blood flow is blocked by the constriction, and also by blood clots.
Ciera will be transferred to Boston Children's Hospital early next week, where they specialize in Moyamoya disease.
Ciera has been through a lot for such a young little girl & her parents have been right by her side through everything. Jenn and Jim have never asked for much -- their family and close friends have been their biggest supporters. Medical expenses are unknown at this time, but adding up everyday.
Every little bit matters! If you would like to help the Charbonneau family, a donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
