Marco Strong

From Neuroblastoma at the ago of 5, to a double lung transplant at 9, and now fighting another organ failure once again just days before his 11th birthday.

Today is day 55 in the hospital, Marco’s mom has been living across the state of Florida separately from dad and his two other siblings. It may take weeks maybe months before going home is an option as outpatient dialysis may be absolutely necessary. With Marco’s eleventh birthday quickly approaching (10/01!), we are trying to raise some funds for the family. We don’t know if Marco will still be in the hospital on his birthday, but we’d like to make it as special as possible either way. We’re also asking for help to assist with the hundreds of thousands in medical bills and expenses, so every little bit counts!

It’s been one year since Marco’s double lung transplant and 3 years since his bone marrow transplant, yet his immunocompromised status keeps him susceptible to viruses and sick in the hospital frequently. The infections that brought him in this time are finally under control, but at the cost of his kidneys, which have now failed. The daily IV medications and continuous imaging studies have taken its toll on his fragile kidneys which were already battling TMA— another chemo-induced organ disease.

Doctors hope they will recover, and nutritionists are starting to come up with a brighter plan to put his weight back on since he hasn’t eaten anything in over a month. He’s only 53lbs at 10 years old, so this is a must. Please support this champion’s fight, he’s come so far and battled so much since his original cancer diagnosis at just 5 years old.
