Kindhart Service Dog Fund

Donation protected
Ryan Kindhart is a veteran. That's a pretty loose term for someone who has done so much for his country, his brothers in arms, his family, and never for himself. Ryan served three tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.  He has been medically retired for just over two years now with 100% disability, due to combat related PTSD. His service and therapy dog, Tank , was severely injured in a hit and run near our home. His leg is very severely broken and he could end up having to have it amputated. We have some money in savings but the total cost of the surgery and all other services is far higher than what we can afford. We are trying to raise money to help.

When they say a dog is a man's best friend, it is an understatement when it comes to Tank and Ryan. This dog is by his brother's side every step of the way. He calms Ryan when he needs it, he plays with him and distracts him when needed, he sleeps literally on top of Ryan nightly to protect him from the nightmares that still occur regularly. These two have a bond that can never be replaced. Ryan raised and trained Tank from a puppy. They have been inseparable for eight strong years and we are not willing to euthanize. As Ryan's partner, I see their interaction daily and I am amazed at the relationship between them. Tank keeps Ryan sane when the world around him is falling apart. Even on days when I can't quite understand it all. Tank not only helps Ryan daily, but also our entire family. He is patient and kind and playful with our two children, age 9 years and 9 months. He warns us of danger. He has calmed me through multiple panic attacks and stressful moments. He is a light in our sometimes dark world. We need this dog. Ryan needs his best friend.

Any help that any person can give will be put towards veterinarian costs. If there is any surplus, we will be donating funds to both the local humane society and the Wounded Warrior Project. All help, even the smallest amounts, is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless you all.
