My mom, aunt & uncle’s baby brother Rafael Chacon, was the second to youngest of 5. A very kind hearted person with a sense of humor that could light up everyone’s day as we remember him.
He had a very hard life. Constantly struggling physically, emotionally and mentally from traumatic experiences. He cared deeply about his siblings. Which is why it is so unfortunate our entire family lost touch with him when he went spiraling into a deep depression and moved far away, leaving everyone in the dark about his health. His own family was unable to see him for approximately 15 years.
When we finally heard from him it was sadly too late. Over this long period of time he missed the chance to meet his new nieces and nephews, celebrate any birthdays, experience a happy side of life, build new memories with his family. We then had to reunite together in a hospital as he battled stage 4 liver cirrhosis which is chronic liver damage from a variety of causes leading to scarring and liver failure. It broke our heart to learn that although treatment can help, this condition could not be cured.
We were told at most he had 4 months to live but sadly he was taken from us much much sooner. At the young age of 46 and just two days before his birthday, he was gone. Leaving his family and his dogs behind mourning.
Please, if you are reading this know any help makes a difference. Right now our family has also just experienced another family loss within this same month and this all has put us not only in an emotional heartache but a huge financial bind. Help us say our final goodbyes with the proper burial service he needs to Rest In Peace once and for all.
God bless you all for your support.
