I will be participating in the Best Buddies Challenge 100 mile charity ride on Team Mal's Pals:
Imagine waking up one day feeling sad and alone - finding yourself without friends or employment. For 200 million people worldwide with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), this is the daily reality of rejection and isolation people with IDD often face.
Best Buddies International is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of people with IDD. Their programs help people with IDD form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society. Mal’s Pals Foundation has made it a goal to educate those both near and far about rare diseases and inclusion. We provide resources in all forms – social, emotional, educational and medical. Through social media platforms and our networking efforts, we have helped connect people with rare disease, supported their family members, and educated the public on inclusion and acceptance
