Retrieve - Rehabilitation House For Women
Hi,
My name is Tasha, I am an ex-addict. I battled a gruelling 15-year crack and alcohol addiction. This path took me down a life of doing things I never thought possible to feed my habit, a few of those things was stripping, prostitution, drug runs and robbing anything that wasn’t bolted down.
Thank God I made it through the other side, I have now been clean for over 6 years!
My heart is to now help other women that are still stuck where I once was. I set up a registered charity called Retrieve in December 2019. Our heart is to now set up a rehabilitation house where we will provide a 12-month live In program to help women exit from any form of prostitution and to help those recover from any life-controlling issues such as drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, mental health and domestic violence.
If you know someone that has battled or is battling addiction, you will know how debilitating it is. Not just for the user but for the mother, father, partner and especially the children. It's heart-wrenching!
Three-quarters of the women we work with have children of various ages just like I did, I was so fortunate to get my children back, sadly that isn't always the case for these women. The longer they stay in the cycle of addiction and prostitution the less likely they are to get their children and babies back. We want to break this cycle so it doesn't affect the next generation.
Street prostitution is an addiction all by itself. My fear is that if we don’t help these women.
It will no longer be this is what they do, but this is who they are!!!
We believe in second chances, I am one ......... And we hope you do too!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ....... You are not just making a donation, you are making a difference!
You are making a difference in the lives of the women addicted and the children involved.
Thank you again ❤️
