This song in particular rang in my head as I considered taking on a huge & intimidating opportunity to apply for the International Lyric Academy Summer Program. In my short 25 years of life I have definitely sat alone at night & whispered a countless number of dreams and hopes of achieving seemingly insurmountable goals. Even with my own personal fears and doubts, I have found that the lyrics of this song couldn’t be truer. In a nutshell, Cinderella dropped some knowledge & let us know that, Faith is surely the substance of things Hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
This summer I live out one of my dreams in Italy! I have been accepted with a scholarship to attend the International Lyric Academy’s Summer Opera & Concerts Program this Summer in Tarquinia, Italy. I will be covering the Role of the Countess in this summer’s production of Le Nozze Di Figaro. This 3 week program will include the opportunity to participate in Master Classes, Voice Lessons, Recitals & Immersive Italian lessons with staff from around the world.
Yes, the idea of traveling abroad to Italy seems glamorous, who wouldn’t be excited! But more than anything, at this time in my life this opportunity is the embodiment of the things that I have been wishing & hoping for. An opportunity to express myself through music, to learn and grow as a performer & singer, to experience opera in one of its birthplaces & to have a musical experience that I can come back and share with my students.
